Gong
Eau de Parfum
Gong, owes its name to one of its ingredients: the Dorayaki. Delicately sweet, like the small, filled cake so popular at teatime from which it takes its inspiration, its round shape is similar to that of the gong.
The gong or the sacred, ritual instrument whose sound soothes, generates harmony and leads to a state of inner peace and joy. In fact, "Dora" means gong in Japanese, bringing us full circle.
Our gong marks the happy hour of tea, a deep sound marking a ceremony of simplicity, harmony and mindfulness. Legend has it that the first dorayaki were made when a samurai named Benkei forgot his gong (dora) upon leaving a farmer's home where he was hiding, and the farmer subsequently used the gong to fry the pancakes.
Good to know
A vibrant nod to tea-time and flying imagination. A simple everyday moment of perfection made vibrant by the beautiful spicy amber notes. A daily gesture, a suspended moment, a time for oneself, for the pleasure of seeing the notes of the composition resonate on one's skin, as one welcomes the vibration of a gong. This fragrance ceremony echoes that of tea, the simple pleasure of a moment lived to the full, and in so doing, precious. And if the gong sounds, enveloping you in its waves, it's to give you the exact feeling of existing in the world, fully and serenely. To enjoy the round, profound beauty of every moment.
Olfactive notes
"Gong is an invitation to sophisticated indulgence. I have imagined it as a delightful fragrance that captures the essence of Japan with a subtle and sparkling head of mandarin, pink pepper and yuzu. A heartwarming reminiscence emerges with a soft dorayaki spiced with black pepper. Gong is a fresh ambery fragrance, enhanced by a warm, balmy drydown of benzoin and woods."
